About the role

3D Printing Engineer

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on 3D Printing Engineer to join our team at ProtoLab. This role is ideal for both freshers and candidates with some experience who are passionate about additive manufacturing and want to work closely with multiple 3D printing technologies in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and manage 3D printers across technologies: SLA, SLS, FDM, and DLP.
  • Prepare and optimise files for printing using Materialise Magics, Voxeldance, and other slicing software.
  • Perform part orientation, support generation, nesting, and print optimisation.
  • Modify and prepare CAD files using Fusion 360 or SolidWorks (DFAM principles).
  • Assist in production planning, scheduling, and job execution.
  • Maintain production logs, QC reports, and documentation.
  • Support machine maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and coordination with OEMs.
  • Ensure quality standards and maintain a clean, organised workspace.
  • Exposure to vacuum casting processes is a plus.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Freshers or candidates with 0–3 years of experience in 3D printing / additive manufacturing.
  • Basic understanding of SLA, SLS, FDM, or DLP technologies.
  • Familiarity with Magics, Voxeldance, or similar software (training can be provided).
  • Basic CAD knowledge (Fusion 360 / SolidWorks).
  • Interest in production workflows and hands-on machine operation.
  • Strong problem-solving attitude, willingness to learn, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
