About The Role

Innodata Inc. is building a team of prompt engineers to harness the power of LLMs to automate data annotation and human evaluation workflows. The goal is to facilitate accurate, localized, and culturally adapted data labeling and translation processes through effective prompt design and implementation. You will work directly with a leading technology client partner to identify automation opportunities, design solutions, and drive measurable improvements.

Your role as a Prompt Engineer for Data Labeling & Localization involves collaborating with cross-functional teams including product managers, data scientists, and client teams to reduce human effort and enhance AI-driven processes. Your work will improve data annotation and evaluation, ensuring scalability and high-quality outputs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with data scientists, linguists, and localization experts for accuracy and cultural relevance.
  • Prototype, validate AI models and design effective prompts.
  • Develop and implement prompts within software applications.
  • Utilize a solid knowledge of data structures and modeling.
  • Conduct user testing and feedback analysis for optimization.
  • Analyze model performance using KPIs and communicate findings.
  • Integrate LLMs into data pipelines and automated systems.
  • Create guidelines and training materials for prompt usage.
  • Stay updated on trends in data labeling and localization.

Technical & Required Skills

  • Deep understanding of LLMs and transformer-based architectures.
  • Experience using LLMs for automating data labeling, classification, localization, and annotation.
  • Strong expertise in Python for natural language understanding and data processing.
  • Familiarity with JSON, Javascript, XML and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Jupyter.
  • Experience with APIs and platforms like OpenAI and Hugging Face.
  • Understanding of localization best practices and cultural nuances.
  • Ability to assess model reliability, bias and ensure quality outputs.
  • Experience with data pipelines and integrating models into production systems.
  • An appreciation for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in AI.

Preferred Skills And Experience

  • 2 years of prompt engineering or related AI/ML roles.
  • Familiarity with annotation tools and human-in-the-loop workflows, e.g., Labelbox.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, containerization, and model deployment.
  • Proficiency in another language is a plus.

Minimum Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Linguistics, Localization, or a related field.
