About Integration/Data Engineer at Initiate Government Solutions

Job Overview

The Integration/Data Engineer will support initiatives to optimize the Veterans Experience Office (VEO) through advanced data engineering, analytics, and AI techniques. Although this is a remote position, candidates should be located in the Washington, DC area or be open to a hybrid arrangement.

Responsibilities

  • Build data engineering pipelines for data ingestion, conditioning, and integration.
  • Configure analytic processes by integrating data into the CXI data warehouse.
  • Implement systems integration for seamless data exchange across VA systems.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stewards to draft technical specifications.
  • Develop automated scripts for large data extraction and transformation.
  • Support ad-hoc data analytics requests and reporting.
  • Participate in agile development cycles with two week-long sprints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field.
  • 1+ years experience with Python/Spark programming.
  • 1+ years experience in SQL and ETL pipeline development.
  • Experience with Databricks, data warehousing, and dimensional modeling.
  • Proficiency in GitHub and Agile development methodologies.
  • Prior IT and consulting experience with Federal government exposure.
  • Must be a US Citizen and eligible for U.S. Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active VA Public Trust and healthcare environment experience.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services, Power BI, systems and API integrations.
  • Familiarity with VA systems (e.g., CX Insights, Lighthouse APIs, Medallia) and Jira.
