About Sr. Systems Engineer

Role Overview
This remote role for Sr. Systems Engineer supports work with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The candidate will engage in remote system access and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide systems engineering expertise and technical leadership.
- Analyze technical feasibility and design integration solutions.
- Advise on health IT standards such as HL7 FHIR, TEFCA, and USCDI.
- Design, implement, and support network infrastructure ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
- Lead integration, testing, documentation and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience.
- Expertise in Microsoft tools (SharePoint Online, Office 365, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
Preferred Qualifications & Core Competencies
- Active VA Public Trust and prior VA support experience.
- Relevant certifications (Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, ITIL® certifications).
- Experience working in a remote environment.
