Role Overview
This remote Risk Management Analyst role supports work with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The candidate will work remotely using VA provided communications systems, and may occasionally attend onsite client meetings.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Analyze and evaluate risk management data to identify potential threats to cost, schedule, performance, data integrity, and compliance.
- Assess risks related to health data interoperability initiatives and national standards (e.g., TEFCA, FHIR).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinicians, IT professionals, cybersecurity personnel, and program managers.
- Apply federal frameworks such as NIST RMF, FISMA, and HIPAA/HITECH to protect veterans' PHI.
- Maintain risk registers and mitigation plans, and develop detailed risk reports and dashboards.
- Support contingency strategies and participate in project reviews, internal audits, and risk working groups.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of risk management procedures and support additional project needs as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Health Informatics, Public Health, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in risk management data analysis.
- Proficiency in Access, Excel, SharePoint Online, Office 365, Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
Preferred Qualifications & Core Competencies
