About the Role: Principal Consultant at Infosys
As a Principal Consultant at Infosys, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing significant projects and work streams. This position demands a seasoned professional capable of driving delivery outcomes, ensuring customer satisfaction, and fostering strong team engagement across diverse project models. You will be instrumental in shaping the delivery and business initiatives for client accounts, establishing robust governance frameworks, and managing senior stakeholder expectations effectively.
Roles and Responsibilities
Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Realize delivery outcomes (quality, schedule, cost, benefits) for projects/work streams across managed, co-managed, and client-managed engagement models with various pricing structures.
- Ensure high customer engagement and satisfaction, measured by NPS/CSAT.
- Oversee overall people engagement, managing direct reports (PMs/Tech Arch/Tech Leads) onshore and offshore, and guiding the broader delivery team.
- Own and drive delivery and business initiatives for the account under the Delivery Owner's direction.
- Establish and implement effective program management and delivery governance frameworks.
- Handle CR negotiations for ongoing projects, SOW for new projects, and set up new delivery teams/projects.
- Manage senior stakeholder expectations through clear, timely internal and external communication and reporting.
- Ensure delivery health via periodic reviews, proactive support, and intervention for reporting project managers/leads.
- Lead presales activities and respond to RFP/RFI requests.
- Act as a trusted delivery partner, proactively engaging with customers to enhance business value.
- Provide thought leadership in delivery, methodology, technology, or business domains.
Skills / Competencies
Essential Skills:
- 10-18 years of IT industry experience in delivery roles.
- 5+ years in program or LoB management with large, geographically distributed teams (onshore and offshore).
- Project or Program management experience across full SDLC lifecycle using agile, iterative, waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.
- Prior experience managing delivery engagements with quality frameworks like CMMI.
- Consultative and solutions-oriented approach; experience structuring solutions-oriented delivery and troubleshooting critical issues.
- Strong commercial acumen and high proficiency in effort/cost estimation.
- Exceptional business communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
- "Hands-on" delivery leadership on complex/high-risk projects.
- Experience managing leads/PMs in a matrix organization.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change and continuous improvement in delivery excellence and margin improvement.
Additional Skills:
- 2+ years of strong business domain knowledge in the Telco domain (preferably OSS/BSS), with an IT consulting/services firm.
- PMP Certified.
- Excellent customer interfacing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
