Job Description
Mortgage Loan Processor
The Mortgage Loan Processor is the key contact between the borrower and the Mortgage Loan Operation at Infosys. This role involves communicating with borrowers through verbal and written channels, reviewing and requesting documents required for underwriting, and indexing new inbound documents into the correct file locations. The Processor determines when loans are ready for subsequent underwriter review and is responsible for managing their pipeline of loans. Consistent communication with Sales personnel (Loan Officers) regarding loan status is also a critical aspect of the role.
As a Process Specialist, you will execute transactions according to prescribed guidelines and timelines, review and validate inputs from other team members, and support management in training activities and daily operations reviews. You will also assist in escalation resolution to meet service level agreement targets within Infosys's guidelines. This position involves transition coordination, process training and certifications, talent management activities, Service Level Agreement compliance, and Process compliance. You will also engage in customer interactions, knowledge management, and process reengineering initiatives.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Process loan files from opening through closing.
- Take ownership of loan files upon receipt from mortgage loan officers.
- Act as the primary contact for all parties involved in the mortgage loan process.
- Assemble all necessary loan documents to meet underwriting guidelines and Automated Underwriting System findings.
- Conduct welcome calls and document notices of intent; follow up with borrowers on loan progress.
- Review all documents for accuracy and completeness, determining required documentation for the mortgage loan file.
- Perform data validation and update Empower notes.
- Execute other assigned tasks.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of Mortgage processing experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly adaptable team player.
- Extremely organized, with strong attention to detail.
- Experience with Empower or other Mortgage Loan Applications and managing multiple loan officer relationships.
- NMLS / Certification is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of commonly used mortgage concepts, practices, procedures, and Fannie/Freddie guidelines.
- Problem-solving abilities.
- MS Office proficient.
- Empower proficient.
- Ability to work overtime as business needs dictate.

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face-to-face.
