AWS SME at Infosys
This role involves a deep understanding of AWS services, migration strategies, and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. As an AWS SME, you will act as a trusted advisor, helping customers achieve agility, cost optimization, and business value through cloud adoption. You will have deep hands-on experience with various AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, and more. Proven experience in large-scale cloud migrations, including understanding of different migration strategies (e.g., rehost, replatform, refactor) is essential. A strong understanding of cloud architecture patterns, such as microservices, serverless, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), is also required. Proficiency in using Infrastructure as Code tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform, and experience with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, and Ansible, are critical for success. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills, along with an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or higher, are often required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement cloud migration strategies, assess existing environments, and define migration roadmaps.
- Design and document scalable, secure, and high-performing AWS architectures, including infrastructure as code using tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Perform engineering design evaluations for new environment builds.
- Architect, implement, and improve possible automations for cloud environments.
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of migration projects, utilizing tools like AWS Migration Hub, Application Migration Service, and Database Migration Service.
- Implement industry-standard security practices during implementation and maintain them throughout the lifecycle.
- Advise and engage with customer executives on their cloud strategy roadmap, improvements, and alignment by bringing in industry best practices/trends and working on further improvements with required business case analysis and presentations.
- Create business cases for transformation and modernization, including analysis of both total cost of ownership and potential cost and revenue impacts of the transformation.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing guidance on security, cost optimization, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including business leaders, technical teams, and partners, to ensure alignment with cloud transformation goals.
- Monitor and optimize cloud workloads for performance and cost efficiency, ensuring operational excellence.
- Implement and monitor security controls to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Experience in regulated environments with a focus on data privacy and compliance.
- Knowledge of migration strategy, tools, network requirements, and integration pathways.
- Familiarity with tools like AWS Migration Evaluator for cost analysis and migration planning.
- Experience with cloud cost management and optimization.
- Understanding of change management and building new capabilities.
