indivHR is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join a leading IT service provider. This role focuses on the operational management of network and firewall systems within a security-critical environment utilizing a hybrid cloud infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to ensure the stability and performance of crucial IT systems.

Your Responsibilities

• Ensuring the availability and performance of network and server infrastructure.
• Operating, maintaining, and monitoring network components (Cisco or comparable systems).
• Administering and optimizing VMware environments (ESXi, vCenter).
• Configuring and managing firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet) and implementing security policies.
• Conducting Incident, Problem, and Change Management in accordance with ITIL standards.
• Participating in the planning and implementation of data center tasks (on-premises).
• Developing automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Utilizing modern tools like Ansible and Terraform for deployment and configuration automation.

What You Bring

• Profound knowledge in routing, switching, and network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Experience in operating and configuring Cisco systems or comparable network technology.
• Knowledge of virtualization with VMware (ESXi, vCenter, storage integration, HA concepts).
• Experience with firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), including VPN configuration and rule sets.
• Proficiency in handling physical servers, cabling, and lifecycle management.
• ITIL understanding and a structured, independent work ethic.
• Willingness to participate in on-call duties and undergo reliability and SÜ2 checks according to German security law.
• High willingness to travel throughout Germany.
• Language skills: German at least C1 / English at least B2.
