About the Office of the Controller of Examinations
The Office of the Controller of Examinations (CoE) is the central administrative unit at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all aspects of examinations and assessments. It manages scheduling, question paper preparation, evaluation, grading, and the timely declaration of results ensuring academic integrity and transparency.
Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and process-oriented individual to support the implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines at the Office of the CoE. The focus is on ensuring smooth examination conduct, timely announcement of results, and gathering feedback for continuous improvement. The role offers the opportunity to help build a documentation framework from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain organized physical and digital examination documents.
- Prepare checklists and circulate them for process compliance.
- Assist in daily exam operations including hall tickets and seating plans.
- Collect and compile data and reports for exam activities.
- Support audit readiness through updated and accessible documentation.
- Collaborate with faculty and academic offices for routine follow-ups.
- Prepare dashboards and analytical reports for stakeholders.
Structure and Reporting
This role reports to the Controller of Examinations and requires effective collaboration with internal teams and students.
Person Specification
- Bachelor’s degree in any field.
- 2-3 years of academic administration experience, preferably in examinations.
- Knowledge of higher education regulations and accreditation requirements.
- Excellent academic writing and documentation skills in English.
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and process orientation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Contract Details
This position may be either regular or an 11-month contractual engagement, renewable on mutual consent, with a potential to become regular.
Location
This position is based in Bengaluru and may involve travel to other locations in India.
