We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience in React development, expert-level skills in Web Accessibility (a11y), and a passion for building inclusive, high-quality user interfaces.

This role focuses on ensuring accessibility and mentoring team members to foster inclusive excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Accessibility Implementation & Assurance: Ensure all frontend components meet WCAG 2.1 AA/AAA guidelines with ARIA roles and semantic HTML.
  • Collaboration & Integration: Work closely with UX/UI designers, product managers, and backend engineers from design to deployment.
  • Auditing & Remediation: Conduct accessibility audits using tools like Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, and test with screen readers such as NVDA.
  • Mentorship & Guidelines: Mentor junior developers on a11y principles through code reviews and training sessions.
  • Component Development: Build and maintain high-quality, accessible, React-based user interfaces.
  • Testing & Quality: Implement component and application tests using Jest and React Testing Library, including accessibility tests.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on expertise in React (Hooks, Context API, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of WCAG, ARIA practices, colour contrast, and assistive technologies
  • Proficiency in clean, semantic HTML5 and modular CSS/Sass/Less
  • Experience with accessibility testing tools (Axe, WAVE) and screen readers (NVDA, Voice Over)
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks like Jest and React Testing Library
  • Experience in Agile or Extreme Programming environments
  • Strong communication skills for articulating accessibility issues and mentoring peers
