Role Overview
The CNC Machinist will produce machined parts by setting up and operating CNC machinery, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping thorough records, and ensuring equipment upkeep. The role is onsite in Palmer, MA.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, and engineering plans.
- Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Program mills and lathes by entering precise instructions.
- Set up equipment including chucks, tools, and attachments.
- Verify settings by measuring and sampling workpieces.
- Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Adhere to stringent quality assurance and safety procedures.
- Document production activities and communicate with team members.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED is required along with 1-3 years of experience or completion of a CNC education program. Technical expertise and familiarity with CNC machinery operations are essential.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
The role involves frequent standing, sitting, and walking, and occasional lifting (up to 10 pounds) in a quiet environment with regular use of hands and eyes for detailed work.
