About the Role
The Technical Lab Operations Specialist at iLoF will run the lab end-to-end to support diagnostics R&D and prototyping. You will ensure a safe, organized, and inspection-ready lab environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage lab operations including equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and service schedules.
- Oversee sample accessioning, cold-chain storage, and consumables/reagent inventory.
- Draft, update, and control SOPs, work instructions, and training records.
- Ensure daily operations align with UK/EU regulatory frameworks (ISO 13485, ISO 15189, IVDR, UKCA) and support audits, CAPA, and change control.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, engineering, QA/RA, and clinical teams.
- Champion the use of LIMS/ELN and maintain data integrity.
- Handle administrative tasks such as purchasing, scheduling, and vendor coordination.
Qualifications
A degree in life sciences or biomedical/biochemical engineering (or equivalent practical experience) is required along with 5+ years in lab operations in diagnostics/medical devices/biotech. Candidates should have hands-on experience with SOPs, audits, CAPA, and equipment troubleshooting. Familiarity with LIMS/ELN is a bonus, as well as experience in high-growth startup environments.
