Overview

The Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated Prevention Data Coordinator. Reporting to the HIV Prevention Administrator, the role involves coordinating HIV prevention data collection and reporting, developing and supporting the Prevention services database, and conducting statistical analyses for federal, state, regional, and local partners.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement data and evaluation activities for HIV Prevention.
  • Develop, maintain, and update the Prevention services database.
  • Conduct statistical analyses and generate complex data reports.
  • Provide database training and technical assistance to grantees.
  • Collaborate with a database support contractor to enhance system operations.
  • Ensure accurate and prompt data reporting to federal partners.

Specialized Skills

Knowledge in STD/HIV epidemiology, statistical methods (including logistical regression and GIS analysis), and software such as SAS, Microsoft Access, SQL Server, and Crystal Reports are essential.

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in epidemiology, demography, biostatistics, sociology, psychology, economics or a related field is required along with four years of experience in a relevant field. Preference will be given to candidates with specific experience in using SAS, SQL, Geocoding and GIS software, and report generation tools.
