Job Summary
The Clinical Research Assistant supports the implementation and conduct of clinical research studies under the direction of a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) or Principal Investigator (PI). This role involves assisting with subject recruitment, data collection, documentation, and general study coordination in compliance with regulatory guidelines and institutional policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with participant recruitment, screening, and scheduling research visits
- Obtain informed consent under supervision and document properly
- Collect, enter, and maintain research data in various systems
- Complete case report forms (CRFs) and resolve data queries
- Coordinate specimen collection, labeling, and shipment per protocol
- Maintain study logs, source documentation, and subject files
- Prepare materials for study visits or procedures
- Assist with regulatory document filing and compliance tracking
- Support monitoring visits, audits, and study closeout
- Attend team meetings, trainings, and sponsor calls
- Perform other assigned job functions
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in health, science, or related field
- 6+ months experience or interest in clinical research, healthcare, or laboratory work
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data entry systems
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Preferred: Previous clinical or research experience, familiarity with medical terminology, EHR systems or clinical trial databases, and GCP or Human Subjects Research Certification
Work Environment
This role is based in clinical and office settings with a hybrid work model. The position requires interaction with patients, clinicians, and external research partners. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods. Travel to clinical sites is required, and candidates must have their own transportation.
