Role Overview
The Azure Devops SRE is responsible for supporting, automating, and enhancing the reliability, scalability, and performance of cloud-based systems. This role requires strong hands-on expertise with Azure DevOps, Azure Cloud services, automation scripts in PowerShell/Python, and robust monitoring practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure production systems are available, scalable, and reliable.
- Manage Azure DevOps components: Repos, Pipelines, Test Plans, and Boards, including YAML pipeline creation.
- Provide 24x7 on-call production support through rotational night shifts.
- Utilize Kusto Query Language (KQL) for monitoring and diagnosing issues.
- Create and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and Python.
- Operate and support various Azure Cloud services (VMs, Storage, Networking, etc.).
- Manage incidents using Microsoft ICM and collaborate with global teams, including US-based stakeholders.
- Develop dashboards using Power BI or Fabric for operational reporting.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
- Contribute to the definition and monitoring of SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs while implementing CI/CD best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and YAML-based CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of Azure Cloud fundamentals and services.
- Competence in automation with PowerShell and Python.
- Experience with KQL for log analysis and dashboard creation.
- Familiarity with incident management using Microsoft ICM tools.
- Understanding of SRE principles including reliability, scalability, and resilience.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, especially with cross-functional global teams.
