Business Overview: Clients & Strategy Team

Our Clients & Strategy team encompasses Business Development, Investor Relations, External Relations, Sustainable Investment, and Brand, Marketing & Communications, including Internal Communications. This team is responsible for all communications directed at investor prospects, existing investors, their asset consultants, and a wide array of other stakeholders, such as governments and media.

The Role: Associate, Business Development for Benelux

IFM Benelux is actively seeking an Associate, Business Development to:

  • Support and contribute to fundraising for IFM’s infrastructure equity and debt platform and capabilities, as well as future IFM products, targeting institutional investors in the Benelux region, under the direction of the Head of Business Development Benelux.
  • Work in close collaboration with the established local Dutch Representative.
  • Be an integral part of a global GCS (Global Client Solutions) Associate network, responsible for seamlessly supporting IFM’s business across the broader GCS, and with investment teams across products, both in Europe and globally.

Key Responsibilities

As an Associate, Business Development, you will be:

  • Preparing and assisting in organising investor meetings.
  • Preparing, editing, and maintaining marketing materials.
  • Preparing all relevant due diligence materials.
  • Working with the IFM team to craft appropriate responses to investor and consultant questionnaires.
  • Responding to ad-hoc investor questions in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining detailed tracking of investors, including via the database (Salesforce).
  • Interpreting financial models when appropriate.
  • Maintaining an online investor data room containing due diligence information.
  • Researching and monitoring prospective institutional investors.
  • Helping develop and maintain long-term, profitable relationships with investors.
  • Assisting with fund closings, including documentation, distribution and tracking, anti-money laundering checks, and internal reporting.
  • Assisting with the preparation of fund structuring and legal documentation.

Your Background and Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant and relatable experience in finance, investment banking, investment research, product sales, funds management, or a similar field, gained within comparable environments.
  • Experience in investor relations, product sales, client-facing roles, and customer relationship management is considered a significant asset.
  • Knowledge of private equity or infrastructure sectors is preferable.
  • Business-level fluency in both Dutch and English, demonstrated through excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective liaison with investors and IFM staff at all levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or an equivalent qualification.

Business Knowledge

  • Strong investment, financial, and product knowledge.
  • Good marketing and client communication skills.
  • Knowledge of systems/databases containing investor and investment data.

Technical Knowledge

  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to develop high-quality presentations and financial models, including the use of pivot tables and Macro functions when required.
