Senior Specialist - Credit Administration at IDFC FIRST Bank

This Senior Specialist role in Credit Administration within Wholesale Banking Operations is crucial for handling post-sanction activities for Large Corporates. The position ensures strict adherence to credit, regulatory, legal, and product guidelines during customer disbursements. As a vital control function and the last gatekeeper of funds, the role involves extensive due diligence and diligent monitoring of credit conditions stipulated by approving committees, along with ensuring adequate limit, covenant, collateral, and document management.

Roles & Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities
  • Handle a wide range of products including working capital, term loans, NCDs, investment limits, portfolio buyouts, and commercial paper for Large Corporate and FIG segments.
  • Verify that all credit appraisals are adequately approved and conform to both internal and RBI guidelines.
  • Guide and mentor team members, ensuring error-free processing within committed timelines.
  • Confirm that statutory and internal exposure limits are not breached.
  • Ensure enforceable legal documentation for credit facilities, adhering to legal guidance and standard formats/procedures.
  • Involve in security creation processes, including mortgages, pledges, and hypothecation.
  • Ensure compliance with all conditions precedent prior to disbursement.
  • Provide clearance for disbursement through the LSM/DM channel to Loan Operations.
  • Set and modify existing processes to proactively mitigate operational risks.
  • Coordinate with the loan operation team to facilitate seamless transaction processing.
  • Ensure the tracking of various covenants and deferrals within the system.
  • Liaison with Business Teams, Legal, and Credit departments for timely and quality deliverables, resolving issues and answering queries.
  • Ensure safe keeping and retrieval of loan documents to the vendor.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Business and Operations teams to ensure faster transaction processing, aligning with the Bank's 'Customer First' philosophy.
  • Conduct periodic reconciliation and clean-up, including documents and security management.
  • Maintain governance over data and regulatory reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop an understanding of the IT system within the Bank's credit ecosystem and assist in identifying and mitigating gaps.

Educational Qualification

  • MBA

Experience

6 to 10 years in Banking
