About the Role
The Design Research Lead at IDEO is responsible for crafting and engaging in multifaceted research activities across media, entertainment, and technology. The role involves direct client collaboration, guiding interdisciplinary teams, and shaping insights that fuel design innovation.
Responsibilities
- Lead interdisciplinary project teams with diverse design backgrounds.
- Develop and execute comprehensive research plans.
- Utilize qualitative and quantitative methods including ethnography, interviews, diary studies, surveys, and analytics.
- Analyze and synthesize research findings into actionable insights.
- Direct human-centered strategy and compelling storytelling.
- Collaborate closely with clients in Pacific and Japan time zones.
Relevant Experiences and Skills
Candidates should have 5-7 years of experience in design/UX research or related fields. Direct experience in digital media, interactive entertainment, gaming, and emerging technologies is essential. Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, hands-on involvement in turning insights into tangible design outcomes, and exceptional storytelling skills are required. Experience in global research with diverse communities is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
This full-time role offers a competitive salary range between $115,000 and $135,000 USD, commensurate with experience, along with comprehensive employee benefits.
