About the role
Job Summary
The Manager, Total Rewards is responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of the organization’s compensation, benefits, and recognition programs. This role ensures that total rewards strategies are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with business objectives, while supporting employee engagement, attraction, and retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with HR and business leaders to support pay decisions, job evaluations, and pay equity analysis.
- Conduct market benchmarking and salary surveys to ensure competitiveness.
- Lead annual compensation cycles, including merit, bonus, and salary structure updates.
- Oversee employee benefits programs (health, retirement, wellness, leave plans) and manage vendor relationships (brokers, carriers, consultants).
- Develop communication strategies to effectively educate employees on total rewards offerings.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws (e.g., ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, State) and support internal/external reporting requirements (i.e., 5500’s).
- Supported audits and compliance reviews by maintaining thorough documentation and responding to regulatory inquiries.
- Manage end-to-end visa and immigration processes, including sponsorship and renewals. Partner with legal counsel and external vendors to ensure adherence to U.S. immigration laws and regulatory requirements.
- Administer compensation and benefits for employees covered under the Service Contract Act (SCA), ensuring full compliance with Department of Labor wage determinations.
- Partner with HR, payroll, and finance teams to ensure accurate implementation of SCA requirements in compensation structures.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field.
- 5–8+ years of experience in compensation, benefits, or total rewards.
- Experience managing annual compensation cycles and benefits programs.
- Prior experience in a managerial or lead role preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Deep knowledge of compensation structures, job architecture, and market pricing.
- Understanding of benefits design and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Excel (advanced preferred).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
