Your Role as a UX Designer
As a User Experience Designer beginning your career with IBM Storage offerings, you will integrate into a collaborative and interdisciplinary design team. You will work closely with experienced senior designers, product managers, and developers to support the creation of user experiences that are intuitive, efficient, and highly impactful. The data storage domain is inherently complex and multi-layered, presenting exciting opportunities to learn and contribute to innovative design solutions, including sophisticated interfaces, data visualizations, and advanced AI-driven workflows.
- Assisting in the creation of wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes to support various design concepts.
- Collaborating with product stakeholders to thoroughly understand user needs and align with business goals.
- Translating valuable user insights and detailed requirements into thoughtful and effective design ideas.
- Working within a passionate design team dedicated to delivering meaningful user experiences.
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- A Bachelor's degree in design, specifically in areas such as Interaction Design, User Experience (UX), or Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a closely related field.
- Familiarity with fundamental design principles, as well as practical experience with wireframing and prototyping tools.
- Demonstrated strong communication, storytelling, and comprehensive documentation skills.
- A proven ability to think both creatively and analytically to effectively solve complex design challenges.
- A compelling portfolio or academic project that clearly showcases your design thinking process and a strong commitment to user-centered design methodologies.
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
- Academic experience specifically focused on UX design or related fields.
- Exposure to industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and similar platforms.
- An understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles to create experiences for all users.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and collaborative design processes, enabling effective teamwork.
