Your Role and Responsibilities as a Technology Sales SME - Data/AI

As a Product Sales SME for Data Platform - AI, your profound knowledge and practical experience with IBM's cutting-edge AI products will be instrumental in driving substantial business growth. Your specialized expertise will span a broad spectrum of products, including but not limited to Bob, watsonx Orchestrate, Business Analytics Enterprise (encompassing Planning Analytics), Openpages, Content Manager, and Filenet.

Primary Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Develop Solution Strategies: Formulate and implement comprehensive sales strategies for IBM's AI product suite, leveraging your extensive understanding of the product portfolio to effectively address client requirements and accelerate revenue generation.
  • Deliver Client-Facing Solutions: Engage directly with clients to thoroughly comprehend their business obstacles and subsequently deliver bespoke solutions utilizing IBM's AI products, ensuring seamless integration and maximized return on investment.
  • Provide Product Expertise: Act as a reliable trusted advisor, offering expert guidance and comprehensive support to clients regarding the successful implementation and optimization of IBM's AI products, including watsonx Code Assistant and Business Analytics Enterprise.
  • Foster Collaboration: Work in close partnership with diverse cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to guarantee strategic alignment and efficient delivery of solutions.
  • Stay Current with Product Developments: Diligently maintain and continuously update your knowledge of IBM's AI products, remaining fully informed about new features, major releases, and emerging applications to sustain your esteemed SME status.
  • Strategic Consultative Selling: Demonstrate a proven capability to significantly contribute to and accelerate sales growth through active support of revenue-generating strategies and pivotal customer engagement activities.
  • Strong Coaching Capability: Exhibit demonstrated consultative experience in providing crucial support during customer engagements and actively enhancing the overall effectiveness of client meetings.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Well-developed expertise in enterprise sales, with a track record of consistently delivering results and confidently driving customer engagement with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Deep Knowledge of IBM AI Products: Extensive experience with key IBM AI products, including Bob, watsonx Orchestrate, Business Analytics Enterprise, and other pertinent products within the Data Platform ecosystem.
  • Technical Expertise in AI Solutions: Proven experience in meticulously designing and developing comprehensive sales strategies specifically for AI products, utilizing in-depth knowledge of the product portfolio to proficiently meet diverse client needs.
  • Product Implementation Expertise: Hands-on experience with the successful implementation and optimization of IBM's AI products, which includes furnishing expert guidance and robust support to clients on optimal product usage and established best practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Significant experience working collaboratively and effectively with various cross-functional teams, such as sales, marketing, and product development, to ensure cohesive alignment and streamlined, effective solution delivery.
  • Staying Current with Product Developments: A commitment to and experience with continuously updating knowledge of IBM's AI products, staying thoroughly abreast of new features, significant releases, and innovative applications.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • Additional IBM AI Product Knowledge: Prior experience with other IBM AI products, such as Cognos Analytics, Planning Analytics, Automation Decision Services, and Blueworks Live, would be highly advantageous for this role.
  • Familiarity with Emerging Technologies: Exposure to nascent technologies like Robotic Process Automation (RPA), webMethods BPMS, and OpenPages can offer a distinct advantage in conceiving and developing sophisticated sales strategies for AI products.
  • Industry-Specific Knowledge: Experience working successfully with clients across a spectrum of industries, skillfully leveraging IBM's AI products to address their distinctive business challenges, can be invaluable in crafting and delivering highly tailored solutions.
