Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Project Manager - Public Sector at IBM, you will lead the delivery of key technology projects. You will manage project scope, schedule, and budget and coordinate with technical and business teams to ensure successful outcomes. You will apply Agile and traditional project management methods to manage application development, modernization, cloud, or analytics initiatives. This role requires strong communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading project planning, execution, and delivery per contractual and business requirements.
  • Managing scope, budget, schedule, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Coordinating with clients, technical teams, and stakeholders.
  • Applying Agile, Design Thinking, and traditional PM approaches.
  • Overseeing technical or vendor teams to ensure quality in the SDLC.
  • Supporting communication planning, reporting, and governance activities.
  • Building strong client relationships and resolving issues effectively.

Preferred Education & Expertise

A Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Required skills include project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management, along with a strong understanding of SDLC. Experience with Agile and traditional PM methodologies, cloud delivery (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, GCP, Red Hat OpenShift), and risk, issue, dependency, and change management is essential. Additional requirements include vendor coordination, stakeholder engagement, and excellent leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Security Screening

This role requires pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s BPSS. Additional National Security Vetting may apply, including eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
