In this role, you will work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), providing deep technical and industry expertise to public and private sector clients worldwide. These centers offer local skills and technical knowledge to drive innovation and the adoption of new technology.

Your Role and Responsibilities as a Junior Data Scientist Artificial Intelligence

As a Junior Data Scientist Artificial Intelligence / AI Consultant at IBM, you will tackle business problems using cutting-edge open-source technologies like Spark, Tensorflow, and PyTorch, alongside leading cloud-agnostic and Cloud-Native technologies such as Databricks, OpenShift, and Azure AI. Your responsibilities will include:

• Analysis, preparation, and management of complex data sources.
• Working with both custom and pre-trained models, including Foundational Models and LLMs.
• Writing clear, bug-free, and adaptable data and AI related programs.
• Developing scalable and robust data and machine learning pipelines.
• Applying traditional algorithmic techniques and cutting-edge AI/ML paradigms.
• Implementing, integrating, and monitoring AI / ML models.
• Collaborating in an agile environment with scientists, engineers, consultants, and stakeholders to bring analytical rigor and AI-fueled innovation to client businesses.
• Communicating with internal and external clients (e.g., business and IT departments) and stakeholders to define business needs and select appropriate AI techniques.
• Evaluating AI system results and reporting them to both technical and non-technical audiences.

In addition to exciting projects, we offer flexible working hours and a modern work environment. You will receive a competitive salary starting at 49.000€ brutto/year for a 38.5 hours/week, with potential for more based on your qualifications and experience. Preferred Education and Expertise

A Master's Degree is preferred for this role.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Strong fundamentals in Mathematics and Computer Science.
• Proven knowledge and experience in AI and ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch).
• Experience with GenAI and agentic AI architectures (RAG, agentic patterns, etc.).
• Understanding of AI governance and monitoring.
• Strong ability to communicate with and coach senior executives, translating technical insights into business strategy.
• Excellent technical and analytical abilities with a knack for driving impact and growth.
• Proficiency in problem-solving, debugging, troubleshooting, and designing/implementing solutions to complex issues.
• Ability to thrive on teamwork and possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent command of German and English.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
