Introduction
In this role at IBM, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers, delivering deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients globally. Our delivery centers offer locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Data Engineer Data Platforms at IBM you will harness the power of data to unveil captivating stories and intricate patterns. You will contribute to data gathering, storage, and both batch and real-time processing. Collaborating closely with diverse teams, you will decide the most suitable data management systems and identify crucial data for insightful analysis.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Implement and validate predictive models and maintain statistical models using machine learning techniques.
- Design and implement enterprise search applications such as Elasticsearch and Splunk.
- Collaborate in an Agile environment with data scientists, engineers, and consultants.
- Develop code to cleanse, integrate, and expose data as APIs.
- Lead workshop sessions, analyze non-functional requirements, and prepare project documentation.
Preferred Education
Master's Degree
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Develop/Convert databases from Hadoop to GCP including objects, views, procedures and more.
- Implement data replication mechanisms (CDC, file transfer, bulk transfer).
- Expose data as API and participate in modernization roadmaps.
- Analyze requirements related to security, HA, performance, and compliance.
- Lead the team in adopting appropriate migration and modernization tools.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
You should thrive on teamwork with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
