Your Role And Responsibilities
Working alongside senior security consultants, you will collect and analyze business and technical requirements to solve complex client challenges. You will contribute to designing and implementing holistic security solutions that incorporate people, processes, and technologies in order to improve clients’ security postures. Your responsibilities include monitoring, detecting, planning, building, implementing, and supporting advanced security solutions.
Work You Could Do As An Associate Security Consultant
- Collaborate with client personnel and IBM teams to identify requirements.
- Participate in requirements analysis, system design, and implementation.
- Gain knowledge across multiple platforms, processes, and architectures.
- Leverage flexible, iterative approaches unique to IBM.
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Familiarity with network design, network security, and encryption protocols.
- Experience in security domains including Threat Management, Data/Application Security, Identity and Access Management, and Cloud/Infrastructure Security.
- Exposure to software tools such as Python, C/C++, Golang, bash, C#, and software testing automation.
- Knowledge of SIEM, SOAR, and EDR, and network security tools (vulnerability scanning, monitoring, intrusion detection, etc.).
- Willingness to travel up to 100%.
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
- Experience with Microsoft Sentinel/Defender, CrowdStrike EDR, and next-gen SIEM solutions.
- Knowledge of Google SecOPs, Palo Alto Networks XSIAM, Splunk ES, and related technologies.
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA, S+, CISSP) are an advantage.
Location
This position is based in Chicago, IL and is anticipated to start in 2026.
