IBM iX – Experience The Human Factor
As a Lead Digital Strategy Consultant, Banking & Finance (w/m/x) at IBM iX, you will play a central role in the strategic consulting of banks and financial service providers. You will be responsible for the development and management of complex digital and transformation initiatives, acting as a sparring partner for C-level decision-makers and actively shaping the strategic positioning of our clients in an increasingly regulated and technology-driven environment.
You navigate confidently through topics such as bank-specific digital ecosystems and AI-driven Customer Experience, translating market requirements into implementable strategies with measurable business impact.

Your Responsibilities
- Develop customer-centric digital and omnichannel strategies across the entire banking journey (Retail, Corporate, Private Banking).
- Identify banking pain points, moments of truth, and growth levers using qualitative and quantitative methods (e.g., Customer Research, Journey Mapping, Service Blueprints).
- Conceive and support transformation initiatives (e.g., digital sales models, self-service, personalization, mobile & online banking).
- Design use cases for AI agents in banking by identifying, prioritizing, and structuring Agentic AI use cases (e.g., personalized financial advice, next-best-action, intelligent service agents, automated decision processes).
- Lead and moderate C-level strategy, innovation, and decision workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop CX key figures, target images, and business cases to measure customer satisfaction, loyalty, and economic impact.
- Play an active role in business development by taking responsibility for content-related proposal concepts.
- Mentor consultants and actively develop the consulting portfolio in the field of AI-driven banking.
Your Skills
- Completed degree in Business Administration, Business Informatics, Finance, Digital Business, or a comparable field.
- Several years of consulting experience in corporate or strategy consulting with a clear focus on banks and financial service providers.
- Strong understanding of digital banking ecosystems, regulatory frameworks, and the connection between business and IT.
- Experience with CX frameworks and Design Thinking.
- AI competence (strategic and/or practical) is a clear advantage – especially in the context of efficiency, automation, or customer experience.
- Confident communication at C-level, structured and decision-oriented work style, convincing with strategic clarity and implementation strength.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, willingness to take responsibility, and enjoyment in sustainably developing topics, teams, and clients.
