Job Description

The Junior Data Analyst will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our forecasting and optimization models, as well as developing new analytical tools. Your insights will directly shape our commercial strategies and help mitigate market risks. As a member of the Energy Market & Strategy team, you will support ib vogt in the commercialization of power and other products or services from its assets. You will assist the team across multiple markets worldwide by completing a variety of analytical tasks.

The ideal candidate will have educational or professional experience in quantitative analysis of energy market data and software programming. This role offers opportunities to develop your analytical skills and deepen your knowledge of energy markets, with increasing exposure to external stakeholders and major projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain, update, and improve analytical models for power price analysis and forecast, pricing of risks related to power purchase agreements, and PV + BESS optimization.
• Deliver data analysis to support commercial negotiations (e.g., PPA) for short and long-term offtake structures.
• Provide regular reporting on market trends and relevant metrics to ib vogt management.
• Offer ad-hoc analytical support, including the development of additional models and tools.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or Mathematics; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Understanding of energy markets dynamics and energy generation technologies.
• Experience using Python, Matlab, R, or other programming languages.
• Strong commercial and proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative across multiple tasks.
• Ability to effectively interface with multiple roles and build relationships internally and externally within the organization and with clients.
• Financial & analytical capabilities in pricing and risk management are a plus.
• Languages: English (native speaker or excellent command), additional languages are welcome.
