Job Overview

The Department of Ecology is seeking a Clean Energy Specialist to support Washington State's transition to a fully decarbonized energy sector. This position supports the coordination of clean energy permitting and programmatic environmental impact statements for solar, onshore wind, and green hydrogen projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the coordinated permit process for clean energy projects.
  • Develop technical reports based on research on clean energy and emerging technologies.
  • Coordinate outreach and communications to engage diverse communities.
  • Lead efforts in environmental justice and accessibility.
  • Assist in preparing programmatic environmental impact statements.

Additional Information

This project position is funded until June 30, 2025, with a high probability of renewal. Tele-work options up to 80% are available. Final duty station will be one of the following Washington locations: Lacey, Shoreline, Union Gap, or Spokane. Applicants must reside within a commutable distance of the duty station. In the Northwest Region Office, an additional 5% pay increase applies due to King County location.
