What Are We Looking For?
Hyro is seeking an experienced AI Engineering Group Manager to join our growing R&D organization in Tel Aviv. In this pivotal role, you will lead and scale a group of teams, including our AI team, Chat AI product team, and Incubation team, all responsible for the heart of Hyro’s AI platform. A major focus will be to lead and expand the Data Science team, encompassing machine learning research, ML model development, and MLOps practices, ensuring the delivery of production-ready, scalable, and reliable AI solutions. Reporting to the CPTO, you will be instrumental in shaping our technical vision, driving the evolution of our conversational AI and voice solutions, and cultivating a strong, high-performing engineering organization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, scale, and mentor an engineering group of 15–20 engineers, delivering complex, AI-driven products at scale.
- Manage two Team Leads and provide direct leadership to specialized teams, including the AI team and Data Science team, working closely with a dedicated AI Architect.
- Partner closely with the CTO to translate technical vision into execution and ensure strong alignment across teams.
- Collaborate deeply with Product Managers to define and execute the roadmap for Hyro’s core AI engine and chat experiences.
- Oversee the development and deployment of machine learning models, including model design, evaluation, optimization, and production integration.
- Drive continuous improvement of R&D processes, structure, and engineering culture to support rapid growth and high-throughput environments.
- Foster technical excellence, mentor future leaders, and build a strong leadership pipeline within Hyro.
- Own cross-functional collaboration, ensuring strong synchronization between your group and other departments across the company.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in Engineering, and at least 3 years as a Group Manager or similar role.
- Proven track record of managing at scale in high-growth companies.
- Deep technical rooting with the ability to lead architecture reviews and stay close to the technology without necessarily coding daily.
- Experience designing and operating large systems with an emphasis on scalability, high availability, and performance.
- Deep expertise in Data Science, Machine Learning, and MLOps, including model development, deployment, and monitoring.
- Strong familiarity with Python, Node.js, and cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Experience building virtual assistants or SaaS products - an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proficient English.
