About the Role at Hyphen Connect
We are seeking a dedicated Linux Engineer to join one of our ecosystem projects within the financial services/HFT sector. This role focuses on building, improving, and maintaining a complex Linux environment, crucial for high-frequency trading systems. This position is based onsite in Hong Kong.
Key Responsibilities of a Linux Engineer
- Administer and upgrade servers using a centralized platform.
- Provide operational support across the APAC region in a follow-the-sun model.
- Design and install Linux systems optimized for stream, batch processing, and ETL workflows.
- Provision new environments collaboratively with Development and IT teams.
- Automate deployments and continuously innovate improvements for system efficiency.
- Conduct R&D for new solutions and adopt emerging technologies.
- Ensure global reliability and scalability of the Linux infrastructure.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Linux administration is essential.
- Proficiency with Enterprise Linux environments and core networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, routing, multicast).
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Foreman.
- Strong understanding of storage solutions, load-balancing techniques, and server hardware.
- Mandatory skills include Git and scripting abilities in Python or Bash.
