Overview
The Game and Economy Designer plays a key role in developing mobile free-to-play games by focusing on both gameplay and economic systems. This role involves creative contribution from concept to live operations and direct collaboration with the LiveOps team to ensure optimal player engagement and balanced economies.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design of Mobile Free-to-Play projects from concept to live operations.
- Collaborate on live events, new content releases, and gameplay optimization using data-driven insights.
- Design and balance game economies and systems to enhance monetization, retention, and engagement.
- Work with the LiveOps team to shape event structures, content pipelines, and reward systems.
- Conduct market research and deconstruction of live games to inform design innovations.
- Communicate design intent and economic models clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Assist in product planning, feature creation, and backlog refinement.
Your Track Record
- 3+ years of industry experience with at least one shipped mobile game title.
- Proven experience in designing and balancing game economies and systems in free-to-play titles.
- Hands-on experience within a LiveOps team, focusing on content cadence and event design.
- Strong math, analytical skills, and proficiency with spreadsheets and economy modeling tools.
- Familiarity with key performance indicators like player retention, engagement, and monetization.
- Knowledge of Free-to-Play game loops, monetization strategies, and industry trends.
- Effective communication of design decisions and economic models.
- Prior experience with Idle Games is a plus.
