Role Overview - Event Planning Manager
The Event Planning Manager reports directly to the Director of Events and is responsible for planning and executing mid-size to large, complex group events. This role involves menu planning, agenda development, event coordination, and ensuring effective communication with hotel associates. The Manager manages on-site coordination and event wrap-up, servicing large market events and maintaining strong customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for clients for meetings, conferences, galas, and trade shows.
- Manage event planning lifecycle from detailing and menu planning to post-event follow-up.
- Coordinate logistics including AV, room setups, F&B requirements, timelines, and billing.
- Lead pre-event meetings, conduct site visits and planning sessions.
- Partner with Event Sales, Operations, and Culinary teams to ensure consistent guest experiences.
- Maintain detailed records and Event Orders for internal communications.
- Monitor revenues, labor costs and capitalize on up-sell opportunities.
- Represent Hyatt at industry events and networking functions.

Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or higher.
- Minimum 3–5 years of event planning experience in a full-service or convention hotel environment.
- Large-scale group or convention experience is required.
- Experience with Union Labor and strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and high attention to detail.
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
