Hotel Engineering Manager

Summary

Hyatt Place Amsterdam Airport is seeking a skilled Hotel Engineering Manager to join its ambitious management team. This role is crucial for ensuring uncomplicated experiences in a casual atmosphere for guests at our 330-room hotel, which also features 6 meeting places and an inviting restaurant.

You will be responsible for leading the Engineering team and overseeing all maintenance and technical operations to ensure guest comfort and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Engineering team, conducting performance reviews, and developing skills through training and coaching to support personal and professional goals.
• Focus on daily and preventive maintenance across all hotel areas to ensure utmost guest comfort.
• Locate and resolve technical failures, conducting regular inspection rounds throughout the hotel.
• Coordinate with third parties for failures that cannot be resolved internally.
• Operate and ensure the proper functioning of the Building Management System (BMS).
• Schedule Engineers effectively according to business demands.
• Be responsible for all hotel licenses and certificates, including Green Globe and GBAC STAR Facility.
• Handle all administrative tasks related to the Engineering department.
• Create and adapt security plans and protocols, adhering to local laws and regulations.
• Initiate tenders and invite companies for maintenance contracts, making recommendations for the best options.
• Implement measures to reduce the hotel's carbon footprint.

You are eligible for discounted room rates from day one and up to 12 complimentary room nights annually after three months of service. We offer a competitive salary according to the Dutch Labor Agreement of Hospitality (Horeca CAO), graded under salary group IX, with a full-time gross monthly range of €3461.70–€4800. Additionally, we provide 8% vacation allowance, travel allowance, and 5 extra days of fully paid paternity leave after 1 year of service. The hotel is easily accessible via public transportation or offers free parking.

Qualifications

• Excellent language skills in both English and Dutch.
• Strong technical insight and affinity with repair work.
• A proactive problem-solver, ready to assist colleagues with difficult situations such as aggression or complaints.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including strong communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• A year of work experience, preferably in a similar position.
• Possession of a BHV certificate (Emergency Response).
• Possession of an SVH Certificate (Social Responsibility).
• A background in hospitality.
