Vice President, Market Intelligence/Lead Generation

Job Summary

Capstone Partners, a subsidiary of Huntington National Bank, is seeking a Vice President for their Market Intelligence/Lead Generation team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for conducting primary and secondary research and authoring outbound market intelligence reports. These reports are crucial for Capstone's business development and brand recognition, serving as a valuable source of M&A information for business owners, alliance partners, private equity groups, and news outlets.

As a Vice President, you will focus on producing high-quality research in various forms, including articles, reports, surveys, and indices. You will collaborate with the firm’s Managing Directors and Directors on published research, while also managing a team of Analysts and Associates. This leadership aspect involves driving best-in-class research standards, fostering efficiencies, and supporting the team's growth. Additional opportunities include executing new research projects, managing the evergreen content calendar, contributing to hiring and training initiatives, and overseeing the Market Intelligence intern program.

Capstone Partners is one of the largest and most active investment banking firms in the U.S., advising middle market companies for over 20 years with services including M&A advisory, debt and equity placement, corporate restructuring, special situations, valuation, and financial advisory. Headquartered in Boston, the firm boasts 175+ professionals across multiple U.S. offices and 12 dedicated industry groups. Specific knowledge of primary research methodologies and professional knowledge of one of Capstone Partner’s 12 industry coverage areas is highly preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Publish market intelligence reports, articles, and surveys.
• Lead primary research projects from inception to delivery.
• Oversee and manage the evergreen content calendar.
• Collaborate with the firm’s service teams on content creation.
• Work collaboratively with Lead Generation Services and Banking Teams.
• Support senior team members in project execution.
• Manage and mentor Analysts and Associates, fostering their development.
• Run and enhance the market intelligence intern program.
• Copy edit and proofread all reports for accuracy and adherence to Capstone style guidelines.
• Take on additional projects as needed to support team objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in business writing, market research, or economic reporting.
• Proven expertise in research, analysis, and strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage research projects comprehensively.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Experience with primary research methodologies.
• Aptitude for continuous learning and cross-functional collaboration.
• High degree of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality, coupled with a strong work ethic.
• Mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with financial data platforms such as Capital IQ, FactSet, Pitchbook, and Bloomberg is a plus.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and pass an FBI background check with fingerprinting.
