About the Role: Platform Engineer at Hunter Bond
This is an exciting opportunity for a Platform Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a global, collaborative trading firm run by passionate Computer Scientists, through Hunter Bond. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and operating mission-critical platform infrastructure utilizing modern DevOps practices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, scale, and automate platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and self-service workflows, all aimed at significantly enhancing developer productivity and the overall engineering experience.
Key Responsibilities & Focus Areas
- Observability: Implement and manage robust monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting systems to ensure platform health and performance.
- Scheduling & Orchestration: Develop and optimize High-Performance Computing (HPC) and container orchestration solutions for high-compute workloads.
- Developer Tools: Drive enhancements in CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, artifact management, and overall developer platforms.
- Middleware: Manage and improve critical middleware components such as messaging queues, service discovery, and load balancing.
- Databases: Work with various database systems, including relational, NoSQL, and time-series databases, ensuring their scalability and reliability.
- Automation: Lead efforts in infrastructure automation, configuration management, and the creation of self-service capabilities to streamline operations.
