Engineering Manager - AI Team

You care about building tech that’s smart but also human. As our Engineering Manager - AI Team, you’ll lead the team creating AI-powered experiences for Humanoo - the wellbeing app that’s part of our two-sided wellbeing platform. You’ll guide work on features like burnout prediction, real-time nudges, and LLM copilots - all privacy-first, opt-in, and carefully reviewed for ethical impact.

Tasks

  • Lead a cross-functional team of backend, frontend, and mobile engineers.
  • Ensure delivery excellence, team health, and a sustainable pace.
  • Coach and support engineers in career development.
  • Drive Product and Engineering strategy with various teams.
  • Provide technical leadership in scalable architecture, modularisation, and real-time data integration.

Requirements

  • Experience leading engineering teams (minimum 5 members) in an agile environment.
  • Strong product engineering skillset with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Expertise in backend tech stacks and architectural reviews.
  • Practical experience with ML/AI-powered features and real-time event systems (Kafka, Pub/Sub), REST APIs, containerised deployments.
  • Understanding of privacy-conscious product design and GDPR.
