Overview
Become a part of our caring community at Humana and help us put health first. The UM Administration Coordinator contributes to the administration of utilization management and care management, providing non-clinical support to assess and guide members toward optimal wellness.
Key Responsibilities
This role involves performing computations, handling varied administrative, operational, and customer support assignments. You will work on semi-routine tasks with some latitude over prioritization and timing while following standard policies and practices.
- Provide administrative support for utilization management and care management
- Interpret and enforce department policies
- Handle computations and routine assignment tasks
- Support customer interactions and member guidance
- Work under minimal direction in a structured environment
Required Qualifications
- Residence in Greater Chicago area/suburban Cook or nearby counties
- 2+ years of administrative support in healthcare
- 1+ years of customer service experience
- Experience with Medicaid, Long Term Care, or Medicare members
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree minimum
- Billing/claims or authorization experience
- Experience with electronic medical record systems and documentation
- Familiarity with medical terminology and ICD-10 codes
- Experience with Utilization Review or Prior Authorization
Work Details
The position is hybrid with a requirement to work in the Schaumburg, IL office at least two days per week. Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with overtime flexibility.
