IT Product Owner

The IT Product Owner manages and communicates the vision and roadmap for products to an Agile delivery team and are aligned with IT standards and strategy. The IT Product Owner work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

The IT Product Owner Will

  • Represent the voice of the customer to the team.
  • Owns the articulation and prioritization of backlog in small increments of value that can be delivered in short iterations.
  • Drives value to the business by building and maintaining a product backlog in collaboration with stakeholder and delivery teams.
  • Contributes to shaping the product direction, creating the feature(s), writing user stories, and innovation.
  • Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
  • Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.
  • Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications

Use your skills to make an impact

  • 1–5 years of experience working in Agile environments as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role.
  • Experience working with data teams or data-related products (e.g., data pipelines, ETL/ELT, data platforms).
  • Ability to write clear user stories and maintain a product backlog.
  • Strong communication skills for translating business needs into technical requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Familiarity with SQL or basic data modeling concepts.
  • Product Owner or Agile certification (e.g., CSPO, PSPO).
  • Experience in healthcare or regulated data environments.

Remote/WAH Requirements

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office.
  • Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Pay Range: The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $86,300 - $118,700 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
