About the Role: Internal Auditor 2 at Humana

As an Internal Auditor 2, you will provide valuable services by evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of Humana’s operational processes.
This role involves independently executing audit plans, preparing comprehensive reports for management on risk audit results, and providing actionable recommendations for improvements. The Internal Auditor 2 is expected to make decisions with minimal direction, demonstrating a strong capacity for independent work.
Detailed Role Responsibilities
- Perform audit projects and consulting engagements in accordance with established methodology and within budgeted timeframes.
- Independently prepare audit workpapers in compliance with Institute of Internal Audit and departmental standards.
- Actively participate in audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases of engagements.
- Assist in identifying audit issues and root causes, recommend improvements, and ensure management develops and implements corrective action plans.
- Communicate the results of audit and consulting projects through clear written reports and engaging oral presentations to management.
Required Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- At least 1 year of audit or accounting consulting experience.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- A self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and projects effectively, always keeping the "big picture" in focus.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- A team-oriented approach with an optimistic attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following qualifications will be highly regarded:
- Certifications such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CISSP, CFE, or PMP.
- An advanced degree.
- Experience with Data Analytics / Business Intelligence, particularly with data analytics tools.
- Expertise in Six Sigma Black Belt, Process Improvement, and/or Quality Control.
Additional Information
The preferred location for this position is Humana's Louisville headquarters. While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required. This is a full-time role with scheduled weekly hours of 40.
