About the Role of Director, Behavioral Health Product

Become a part of Humana's caring community and help us put health first. The Director, Behavioral Health Product leads all behavioral health product development within a designated “vertical” or “pillar” within the Behavioral Health organization. This role works across a matrixed organization, leveraging data to ideate products that support Humana members, translating ideation into executable solutions, measuring outcomes, and continually improving the product. This position is a high-accountability role that requires an in-depth understanding of product development, effective stakeholder collaboration for urgent execution, and data-driven decision-making.

The Director, Behavioral Health Product will “own” a product portfolio within the Behavioral Health organization. This individual will form and lead a multifaceted team. The director is the accountable owner for a product lifecycle that includes: Product Identification and Opportunity Assessment, Product Strategy and Design, Build and Operationalization, Launch and Adoption, Performance Monitoring and Optimization, Scaling, and Improvement. The director will build a high-performance team and work day-to-day with stakeholders and customers across the enterprise, serving as the single accountable owner for the product portfolio. This role will also collaborate with other portfolio owners on cross-vertical efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high‑performing team while fostering a collaborative, energetic culture.
  • Assess opportunities for product development within the product vertical.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and customers to craft enterprise-impacting behavioral health products.
  • Work across enterprise stakeholders to align on prioritization and resource allocation for timely delivery.
  • Support the team in crafting an execution plan for products in development.
  • Ensure product impact is measured and transparently share outcomes with stakeholders.
  • Own the results and follow-up actions needed based on outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively vertically and horizontally in the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Product-led model expertise and experience.
  • 7 years of experience working in a healthcare environment.
  • Adept at interpreting data and translating it into opportunities.
  • 5 years of experience as a manager with direct reports.
  • Proven organization, planning, and prioritization skills to collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders concurrently.
  • Demonstrates exceptional executive‑level communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Independently driven with strong urgency of execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in mental health field or RN with background in psychiatric nursing.
  • Product certification and/or LEAN or Six Sigma certification.

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required. Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Interview Format

As part of our hiring process, we use an exciting interviewing technology provided by HireVue. If selected to move forward, you will receive correspondence inviting you to participate in a pre-recorded Voice Interview and/or an SMS Text Messaging interview. A pre-recorded interview will involve responding to questions via your phone, taking approximately 10-15 minutes.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time position with scheduled weekly hours of 40. The compensation range reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay: $150,000 - $206,300 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
