About the Role: Clinical Pharmacist Principal at Humana

As a Clinical Pharmacist Principal, you will play a pivotal role in monitoring drug development and medical literature, providing essential clinical support to internal stakeholders. This position requires a strong understanding of managed care and PBM knowledge to effectively develop and implement strategies aimed at mitigating cost trends and improving health outcomes. You will tackle problems of diverse scope and complexity, ranging from moderate to substantial, contributing significantly to Humana's mission of putting health first.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and operationalize formularies related to coverage, utilization management edits, and clinical coverage policies for pharmacy and medical administered drug products.
• Conduct comprehensive analysis of drug utilization trends to inform and evaluate formulary strategies.
• Collaborate on research projects and develop proposals for new research initiatives.
• Create corporate communications for senior leadership, advising executives on functional strategies, often segment-specific, for matters of significance.
• Support trend management by analyzing drug spend, utilization, and approval scenarios.
• Exercise independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues, working under minimal supervision to determine the best course of action.
• Facilitate and consult across various teams, managing projects collaboratively with staff at all levels of management.
• Stay current with State and Federal regulations concerning Pharmacy practice, implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance and support business strategies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
• Active Pharmacist license with the Board of Pharmacy in the appropriate state AND a Florida license or ability to obtain one.
• Proven success in facilitating and consulting across teams and managing projects.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project environment with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
• Expertise in collaborative communication with staff across all positions and management levels.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) is highly preferred.
• Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
• Experience with Microsoft Access & Microsoft Project.
• Familiarity with pharmacy benefits and health benefits.

Work Environment and Benefits

This is a remote position with occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings.
