Job Description
Overview
The Associate Director Technology M&A and Program Management at Humana leads technology due diligence and develops integration and separation strategies for acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. This role involves in-depth research, IT financial analysis, and investment modeling to identify technology risks, costs, and synergy opportunities across applications, infrastructure, data, cybersecurity, and operational processes.
Integration Strategy & Execution
Develop end‑to‑end technology integration strategies and detailed execution plans aligned to the deal thesis and business priorities. Define Day‑1, Day‑2, and full deployment roadmaps including sequencing, dependencies, and success metrics. Drive integration teams across technology domains and ensure outcomes meet business, regulatory, security, and operational readiness requirements.
Financial & Investment Ownership (IT)
Own financial accountability for technology investments related to M&A activity. Build, manage, and track integration cost cases and forecasts while partnering with Finance and Corporate Development to align technology investments with enterprise ROI and valuation assumptions.
Contractor & Delivery Partner Management
Lead engagement and management of external contractors, systems integrators, and specialized vendors. Define scopes, deliverables, milestones, and success criteria while ensuring quality and adherence to enterprise standards.
Program & Team Orchestration
Serve as the AVP’s delegate in orchestrating the Technology M&A portfolio. Lead managers and specialized professionals, support workforce planning, capability development, and succession planning.
Process, Tooling & Maturity
Advance M&A processes, tools, and governance. Institutionalize repeatable playbooks, dashboards, financial models, and risk management frameworks. Drive continuous improvement through metrics, lessons learned, and adoption of best practices.
Risk Management
Oversee contracting, negotiate favorable terms, and manage technology integration risks while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, SOX, PCI, and data governance standards.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience including 5+ years in technology M&A.
- Proven experience in technology integration strategy and team leadership.
- Strong IT financial and investment management skills.
- Excellent executive communication and influencing skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Master’s degree in a technology, business, or finance discipline.
- Experience in regulated industries.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP, SAFe, ITIL, CISSP, TOGAF, FinOps.
- Proven ability to mature Technology M&A processes and governance.
Additional Information & Work Arrangement
This remote position may require occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings. Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet specified internet speed criteria and work from an interruption-free space to protect PHI/HIPAA data. Telephone equipment is provided as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
Base pay ranges from $156,600 to $215,400 per year, with bonus incentives and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and various leave policies.
