Junior Data Analyst
HSBC is seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Junior Data Analyst. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide accurate analytics using large datasets, present insights to stakeholders, and partner with the business on analytical projects. You will also support the adoption of tools and technologies to meet the needs of UK Data and Analytics, aligning with the overarching Analytics Roadmap and Strategy.

In This Role You’ll
- Deliver hands-on technical tasks, collaborate with the team, and communicate regularly with stakeholders.
- Support the ingestion of vast datasets into the Google Cloud Platform.
- Work closely with senior data engineers to ensure accurate data sourcing, cleansing, and integration.
- Support the rollout and adoption of tools such as Google Gemini, Looker Core, Prophecy, and Databricks.
- Assist in maintaining the visibility of data pipelines, ensuring monitoring and prompt issue communication.
- Provide regular updates to both technical and non-technical teams.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
- Strong data analytics experience and analytical reasoning skills.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python, SQL, Scala, and Spark.
- Experience in Data Modelling, Data Warehousing, and designing efficient data pipelines.
- Google Cloud Platform experience, including BigQuery, DataFlow, DataProc, Data Catalog, Cloud Composer, and Alteryx.
- Ability to integrate data from multiple sources using APIs, third-party tools, or custom connectors.
- Proficiency with Git for version control.
- Ability to collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers using tools like JIRA and Confluence, with an understanding of DevOps.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong stakeholder management experience.
