Finance Planning & Analysis Manager at HSBC

What You Will Do

You will be the guarantor of compliance with operational risk standards, a partner to various finance functions, with a control culture being a priority for our department. The key missions of the Finance Department are: providing quality financial information and analyses to enable the steering of the Bank and its businesses, ensuring the Bank's financial management, producing financial and regulatory statements, ensuring compliance and control of accounts, maintaining and managing the Bank's financial information system infrastructure.

In this role, you will be entrusted with several responsibilities:

  • You are in permanent relation with the Finance businesses to bring your expertise and advise them in terms of training, support, information, including within projects, to ensure they incorporate internal control aspects into their daily work.
  • You monitor Finance deficiencies towards their resolution: accompanying businesses for the definition and implementation of various action plans resulting from detected deficiencies (by internal controllers, audit, management, statutory auditors, regulators, etc.).
  • You review and validate operational incidents within the Finance scope with managers, and ensure the deployment and adaptation of action plans.
  • As a partner to the finance businesses, you actively monitor events and incidents (internal or external), and evaluate possible impacts on operational risks.
  • You prepare contributions, reportings, dashboards, and analyses for the General Management of HBCE and the Group: you are responsible for these reportings and guarantee their effectiveness, coherence, simplicity, with a continuous search for process improvement.
  • You are the guarantor of the quality of internal control data, particularly risk mappings « RCA » and quality indicators.
  • You are in permanent contact with the Global Finance Control Office group community, to share common directives, topics, and solutions, and ensure that the French entity respects group regulations and policies.
  • You prepare the annual tax declaration, including corporate income tax, CVAE, C3S, VAT.
  • You manage the tax integration process for the French fiscal group.
  • You perform a quarterly analytical review of the French fiscal Group's results for communication and presentation to Management.
  • You participate in the preparation of the annual report and accounts, providing comments and analyses, as appropriate.
  • You advise management on the tax accounting impact of strategic transformation programs and new legislation.
  • You drive the annual calendar of internal control requirements including SOX.

Candidate Profile

Apply if you consider yourself aligned with these skills:

  • You have a higher education degree (Bac +5 or more, business school, 3rd cycle university, or equivalent) and benefit from experience in banking activities (ideally 5 years minimum) with solid knowledge of banking finance.
  • You have an excellent level of English and French to carry out numerous interactions with internal and external stakeholders, both orally and in writing.
  • You have acquired solid experience in audit, organization, or internal control functions, or equivalent.
  • You are comfortable listening and advising, you are curious and eager to learn, you have demonstrated in past experiences your ability to adapt and your appetite for change.
  • You are rigorous, have a good analytical and synthesis mind.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to coordinate, gain adherence, and convince.
  • You have the ability to prioritize workload.
  • You have experience in a Group's matrix environment.
  • You have a very good command of Microsoft software and possibly Visio.
