We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President - Business Financial Crime.

In This Role, You Will

  • Lead and provide Subject Matter Expert support on Business Risk identification, mitigation, governance, insights, and control activities, engaging with diverse stakeholders across Wholesale Business Risk, 1LOD, 2LOD, Digital Business Services, Commercial Banking, Global Banking, and other business lines.
  • Provide robust governance and oversight to ensure adherence to established Policies and Procedures within Global Banking, Global Markets, and the Wholesale Business Product Lifecycle Process, encompassing New Product Launch, Enhancements, Product Demise, Post Implementation Reviews, Periodic Reviews, and Product Reviews.
  • Proactively offer extensive support to Wholesale Business Risk Senior Management in managing Conduct Risk and ensuring all governance committees meet the risk governance framework requirements.
  • Co-own the Customer Feedback Tool (Complaints / Suggestions / Compliments), including creating Business Requirements Documents, cost estimations for IT Development, participating in daily project/IT calls, coordinating and performing UAT, SIT, and Post-Implementation System checks, providing User Support, raising JIRA tickets for bug fixes, and maintaining user guides.
  • Ensure that Product Governance Policies and Procedures are appropriate for managing associated risks. Co-own the Product Management Governance System(s) by developing business requirements for new features, amending existing ones, and fixing system bugs in coordination with the Information Technology team.
  • Assume the responsibility of an SME for all activities within the Wholesale Product Governance Framework, including the Product Management and Governance System(s), and provide guidance and input into related activities like the Global Wholesale Product Governance Working Group.
  • Independently and effectively contribute to the implementation and monitoring of Product Governance policies, governance frameworks, procedures, practices, and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management, and compliance with global minimum requirements.
  • Actively participate by providing relevant and timely inputs to all governance forums/committees within the Wholesale Business Risk team and ensure key risks are escalated through appropriate business forums.
  • Identify and collate inputs for enhancing the agenda of good governance across WBR. Support the preparation of business papers and training materials to facilitate the execution and embedding of all Governance initiatives. Review, Challenge, and validate inputs to governance forums.

  • Possess a working knowledge of Commercial Banking & Market Securities Services Businesses and products used by Commercial Banking Clients.
  • Have a strong understanding of Wholesale Banking Business risks, potential mitigating actions, industry best practices, and related risk and control frameworks.
  • Demonstrate strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, complemented by interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels.
  • Be a quick learner with the ability to become a Subject Matter Expert by undertaking a deep dive into multiple Business Risk areas.
  • Exhibit flexibility and adaptability to handle competing priorities that are potentially highly restricted, unpredictable, wide-ranging, complex, and time-sensitive, requiring simultaneous management of diverse issues and resources.
  • Thrive in a matrix organization, delivering against deadlines while working across multiple jurisdictions and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Produce succinct output suitable for senior executive management and external parties at all times, regardless of pressure.
  • Proactively identify issues and initiate structured discussions with key stakeholders across HSBC. Ability to work independently without close supervision and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Possess good business acumen and commercial awareness, including economic, cultural, procedural, and regulatory issues.
