Overview

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Climate and ESG team as an Analyst in Bangalore, KA, IN.

Principal Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Maintain an exhaustive database on Climate change and ESG topics.
  • Analyze Climate and ESG themes impacting securities and investments.
  • Create VBA macros in MS Excel to automate processes.
  • Evaluate ESG/sustainability performance across sectors.
  • Conduct policy research and examine impacts of regulations.
  • Benchmark ESG themes and identify emerging trends.
  • Maintain historical records of corporate actions and litigations.
  • Write detailed industry and policy reports.

Global Risk and Compliance

You will ensure adherence to legal, regulatory and internal guidelines. Maintain robust risk management processes and meet mandatory training requirements.

Qualifications

  • 1-5 years of experience in ESG research or sustainability.
  • Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel and VBA skills.
  • Knowledge of financial databases like Bloomberg, Reuters, or Factset.
  • Strong analytical, data handling, and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of sustainability concepts; Python knowledge is a plus.
