Senior Data Engineer at HR Ways - Hiring Tech Talent

We're hiring a Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in Amazon Redshift, MySQL, and Elasticsearch to join a high-performing Data Engineering team. This remote role is open for eligible candidates from anywhere in Pakistan.

Job Summary

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines, ensuring robust data security and governance, and delivering scalable data solutions for business insights and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Architect and optimize data models in Amazon Redshift.
  • Develop and maintain structured data systems in MySQL and Elasticsearch.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, lineage, and security via governance practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate data needs into technical requirements.
  • Implement data access controls, encryption, and compliance mechanisms.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in data systems.
  • Stay updated with trends and recommend data engineering improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles.
  • Proven expertise in Amazon Redshift including performance tuning.
  • Proficiency in MySQL schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch indexing and real-time analytics.
  • Strong background in ETL frameworks and pipeline orchestration (Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, dbt).
  • Solid understanding of data governance, privacy, and security best practices.
  • Proficient in Python, SQL, and shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with AWS ecosystem (S3, Lambda, IAM, KMS) and DevOps principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with streaming data technologies like Kafka and Kinesis.
  • Knowledge of data cataloging tools (AWS Glue Catalog, Amundsen, DataHub).
  • Experience working in Agile teams using Git, Jira, and CI/CD tools.

Other Details

  • Working Days: Sunday - Thursday
  • Working Hours: 10 AM - 6 PM (PKT)
  • Location: Remote from anywhere in Pakistan
