The Role: QA Engineer II

As a QA Engineer II at Housecall Pro, you will develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. As a key member of our Quality Assurance team, you will support and create API, Web, and mobile automation frameworks and tests. You will design, build, test, and deploy effective test automation solutions for web and mobile applications. This role is for a motivated, enthusiastic, and focused individual with a real passion for quality assurance engineering and strong knowledge of product quality standards, automations, and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using tools.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive test plans, including functional, regression, performance, and integration testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test coverage aligns with product requirements and feature development.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs through issue-tracking systems (i.e. Jira) and ensure timely resolution.
  • Conduct manual testing where necessary to ensure product functionality and user experience meet standards.
  • Implement and improve continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) testing pipelines.
  • Analyze test results, perform root cause analysis of failures, and suggest improvements.
  • Maintain and update automated testing frameworks to increase coverage and efficiency.
  • Conduct API testing and work closely with developers to verify back-end functionality.
  • Provide feedback on design and usability to ensure an optimal user experience.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in quality assurance or software testing with a focus on test automation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in automated testing tools (i.e. Selenium, Cypress) and scripting languages (i.e. Python, JavaScript).
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, and defect tracking.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and frameworks (i.e. Jenkins, GitLab).
  • Experience with AI-driven testing tools and LLMs to automate test case generation, optimize regression suites, and accelerate defect analysis.
