Position Summary

The successful Bar Supervisor will possess strong skills in customer service, drink preparation, leadership, and communication. This role involves assisting the restaurant manager with the day-to-day front-of-the-house activities.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assists in managing the front-of-the-house staff.
  • Participates in conducting pre-cruise meetings and communicates all necessary information to front-line staff regarding the cruise (seating charts, special bar packages, boarding procedures, etc.).
  • Ensures that staff is trained and consistently follows and adheres to proper alcohol service guidelines, thereby ensuring the safety of each guest.
  • Resolves guest service issues by utilizing strong customer service skills and exercising diplomacy in keeping with the company objective of customer retention.
  • Ensures compliance with bar shop standards to maintain the highest level of service and quality.
  • Assists bartenders with daily set up and reset duties.
  • Performs additional job duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalency required.
  • TIPS Certification required.
  • ServSafe Certification required.
  • Strong customer service, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of organization, be detail-oriented, and meet deadlines.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by job responsibility.
  • Listens effectively, assesses situations, determines relevant issues, and suggests solutions.
  • Working knowledge of computer skills, including but not limited to proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to coworkers and guests.
  • Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards.
  • Will be required to be available for work nights, weekends, and on all major holidays.
